The National Committee was formed, achieving local, regional, Arab, and international recognition for its foundational efforts in disability services.

1984

Establishment by Ministerial Decree

On May 19, 1984, the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Sheikh Khalifa bin Salman bin Muhammad Al Khalifa, issued Decision No. 2 establishing the National Committee for the Disabled, tasked with developing general rehabilitation policies and proposing legislation.

1992

Legal Institution Status

On May 19, 1992, under the Social and Cultural Associations and Clubs Law, Decision No. 10 transformed the National Committee into the National Institute for Disabled Services, granting it legal status as a specialized national institution.
